A QUILT FOR BABY

...............................................................................................

My mom + I worked on this quilt for the new arrival headed my way. We have so far just finished the quilt top. I am still debating how to finish it off. I think I may just machine stitch it, but I like hand stitching so much more, that we may do that. It makes a little more special for baby! I am crazy for zig zags lately...don't know what it is, but here is a good tutorial if you want to make yourself a nice little ziggy zaggy quilt!

MORE DIAPER BAG FUN

Another bag I worked on for another sister-in-law. We had this planned out for like 5 months and I finally got to it. It's funny though, we had already cut all the fabric pieces out long ago, so when I finally started sewing it last week I had to improvise with the pre-cut pieces. This is the first bag I have ever done an inside zipper pocket on. I think its called a "slip pocket". I found a couple of good sewing tutorials on it, one from sew, mama, sew!, and another from creative daisy's blog.

Felt

I was sewing this yesterday. I continue to practice putting invisible zippers in with my new "invisible zipper foot". It works a lot better than what I was using, and they are really not all that hard once you get the swing of it. This is a wool felt pillow cover. I bought way too much fabric this weekend....the story of my life. I found a pretty good tutorial on neveryawn.
