Wow

This quilt "wowed" me...seriously, "WOW!" I found it on True Up's website, a website that I visit often. This quilt was created by Sheri Lynn Wood, see here for instructions on how to do it.

PILLOW TALK

Take a moment and notice how I still don't have a lamp on my nightstand...very dysfunctional every single night when I need a light, I already wasted money on a floor boom arm lamp that doesn't even fit by the side of my bed with the nightstand!

I love the color combo in this pattern. I think it would be really cute with a pink back on it too!

CELERIE KEMBLE FOR SCHUMACHER

...So excited to be working on some pillows out of the fabric I ordered. I have lots of pillows to make, and not enough time to make them!?

Applique...

... often you think of cutesy things. I wanted to try something a little different. What do you think? I started with some of my favorite colors and appliqued away!! I will hopefully finish it soon and post the finished product!

Heirloom Blessing Dress

A dress made by my grandmother 27 years ago, for me to wear on my blessing day. It has now been passed down to my ownership, and Ella was able to wear it for her blessing day! It was very special to see her in this same dress that I wore!

THE BEEHIVE BAZAAR!!

Beehive Bazaar Going on now thru saturday till 8 o'clock!
Alright, so I had heard that this show was pretty crowded...but I didn't realize that it would be completely out of control --jam packed, full of people to the point where it was difficult just to walk around!! Oh my goodness it was crazy, but it was pretty fun anyway. The line was pretty insane as well. I think that is why stuff would just get randomly put back in the wrong spot. I had a bunch of other stuff set on my display that wasn't mine...and I would also see some of my stuff just set down on other people's displays...it was like, "Hello, this isn't a store...you can't just set something down where ever you want!" Then my mom was sure these two ladies were shoplifting, because they were putting things in their pockets and purse??! Yeah, I don't think that is a normal thing to do if you plan on paying for something?! Anyway it was like, well what do you do when you see that? If you confront them they would just deny it and say they were planning on buying it. So I hope they get what is coming to them if they were stealing. Shame on shoplifters--especially at a handmade market!! Security at these kinds of events are reliant on people being honest. So it made me kind of nervous that maybe people were just walking out with stuff, and not paying for it.

RUFFLE ONESIE

Another simple onesie that anyone can do. Just add a ruffle down the side out of some white jersey cotton. I just happen to have lots of white cotton jersey on hand, so I have been having fun with different things...well and I have a ruffler attachment foot for my machine, so that is fun to play with too!

MODERN QUILTING

The quilt was finished a couple days before I went into labor. Me + my mom worked on it pretty much straight for two days. It was a fun little project to work on before baby came. We ended up hand stitching it, and I am glad we did. I attached the binding by machine, it was quick and it turned out really well.

DIY BABY SHIRT

A little shirt I made for Ella. It is just a Gerber brand kimono shirt I bought on clearance and then dyed it chartreuse and the trim is a bunch of little flower shapes cut out and sewed on in a row. Really simple to make.

A QUILT FOR BABY

My mom + I worked on this quilt for the new arrival headed my way. We have so far just finished the quilt top. I am still debating how to finish it off. I think I may just machine stitch it, but I like hand stitching so much more, that we may do that. It makes a little more special for baby! I am crazy for zig zags lately...don't know what it is, but here is a good tutorial if you want to make yourself a nice little ziggy zaggy quilt!

Preparing for another Showcase....

These are some of the things that I have finished for the fall Piper + Chloe gift boutique in Farmington. It will be held November 6th + 7th. The burp cloths + towels are new items that I haven't made for this event before.
I am waiting for my Hable Construction fabric to arrive, then I am going to try and make a diaper clutch and changing pad, maybe I will get to it before I go into labor...!

Current Projects...

An Ikea purchase with added antique label pulls, you can find the label holders at smallbox hardware. I think that it could have been better lacqured up with some bold glossy paint!

:: New Batch:::: Bias tape making process...the last step::

..Uh yeah don't mind those scald stains on my ironing board. I am still holding out for my "miracle" ironing board cover! Maybe one day I will get around to making a tutorial for bias tape...I like the continuous bias tape method myself.

More Pillow Talk

More photos that I took of my pillows, not because I am conceded about my work, but the piper +chloe blog asked for some pics of the stuff I am going to be featuring in their spring show. I had lots of other fabrics that I wanted to use to make pillows out of, but those are going to have to wait until I earn some income from these ones!!...assuming that I will hopefully sell something! I have way too much fabric laying around, and it needs to be put to good use...so that I can buy some more. :)

BIRD PILLOWS

Seriously...if it snows one more time, that will be the end of me! What is up with this never ending, dragging winter weather??!
I am making these pillows to sell at the Piper + Chloe spring showcase. I have a few of them, in different colors. I think I like the brown and blue the best so far. I sewed the cover out of velvet, and the applique's are out of wool. Fun, fun!!

MORE DIAPER BAG FUN

Another bag I worked on for another sister-in-law. We had this planned out for like 5 months and I finally got to it. It's funny though, we had already cut all the fabric pieces out long ago, so when I finally started sewing it last week I had to improvise with the pre-cut pieces. This is the first bag I have ever done an inside zipper pocket on. I think its called a "slip pocket". I found a couple of good sewing tutorials on it, one from sew, mama, sew!, and another from creative daisy's blog.

DIAPER BAG

Here's a diaper bag I just got done making for my sister-in-law who just headed back to Maryland. While she was here, we went and picked out a fabric and made her a diaper bag. ? She picked a fabric from Amy Butler's Midwest Modern line, for the main fabric.
